Upcoming Trips

The only thing that is incorrect about saying that this was the trip of a lifetime is the implication that I will only do it once!

Zavkhan Classic, June/July 2010
Ride with us in 2013
Zavkhan Trekking is running a range of trips to our favourite spots in Zavkhan and the Altai, departing Ulaanbaatar from June to September (see descriptions below). Trips range in length from 10 to 21 days. We will also be running a number of exploratory trips for those with a keen sense of adventure. And if you are REALLY adventurous, have a look at our latest trip, to Afghanistan!

Special discount for early bookings
Book before the end of February 2013 and receive a 5% early booking discount. Our team in Mongolia are not full-time tourism industry professionals, they are local herders and countryside folk - giving them plenty of time to plan around their seasonal activities is helpful.
If more than two people are coming together, please enquire about what we can do for you.
We love exploring!
Our trips do not follow a set itinerary, we try out new routes and explore new country much of the time. Zavkhan Trekking specialises in this 'non-itinerised' style of trip that aims to avoid losing the spirit of adventure, which can happen when riding treks become over-planned and just follow the same old well-worn trail. Find out more about what 'non-itinerised' really means here.

Other trips
If you have a different trip in mind, we can also arrange tailor-made trips, just let us know where you'd like to go and what you'd like to do. If you would like to see Naadam, the country's biggest festival, held in Ulaanbaatar July 11th-12th, our June Zavkhan Classic is scheduled to end with the festival. We may also have the chance to see one of the smaller local Naadam festivals in Zavkhan (the dates vary around mid-July from year to year).
